When it comes to Lennox home comfort systems, noise reduction is their forte. Systems like the XC21, the XC17, and the XC14 all come beefed up with noise reducing technology. When they made these systems, the goal was to contain the noise within the air conditioning condenser. They did this by insulating the cabinet and creating what they call Silent Comfort technology and applying it to the fan and grill in the condenser. As the air conditioners super quiet fan blow off heat through the top of the condenser, the grill muffles the noise producing an air conditioner with a decibel rating as low as 69! The air conditioner you have right now is probably somewhere near 13 times louder than this system!
