Cheapest Price Doesn’t Mean Best Value | Indian Head Park, Hines

Friday, December 16th, 2011

Your home is your sanctuary, and odds are you have invested quite a bit of money into the place. You want it to be nice and you want it to be comfortable. When the furnace and air conditioning system are due for replacement, you are going to want to make the best investment for your home. Most homeowners are initially driven by price when comparing and contrasting furnaces and air conditioners, but what they should really be looking for is the best value for their needs. When comparing your offers, you will look for a system that offers comfort, lower utility bills and an increased resale value on the home if possible. If all you are looking at is price, chances are you won’t find all of these things. You need to consider both the quality of the contractor you are going to make this agreement with and the true value of the investment you are about to make.

Choosing Your Heating and Cooling Contractor

When deciding on what equipment and what company will do the best job, it is essential to do your homework.  Is the company accredited with the BBB, what is there rating on social media sites.  What brand HVAC equipment do they offer, what are the guarantees, are they open 24 hours a day for your needs, do they charge additional fees for evening, after hours, weekend or holiday service.  These are questions that when answered will lead you to the best company to meet your HVAC needs. A Top Place to Work for 2 Years in a Row! | Palos Hills, Orland Park

Tuesday, November 15th, 2011

Four Seasons Heating and Air Conditioning was named among the top workplaces in Chicago by the Chicago Tribune today. For the second year in a row, we have been awarded this honor based upon the responses our employees made to a survey designed to evaluate how well we take care of our employees. The management at Four Seasons was kept in the dark as employees were encouraged to speak their minds about how they truly felt they were treated as employees of Four Seasons.

A Philosophy that Starts in the Office and Extends to Your Home

There was no way to buy your way onto the list, and the survey was performed by an independent third party that had no bias in choosing the top companies. The results of this survey are encouraging to those that may be looking to work for Four Seasons, but we also think that they show how Four Seasons’ caring approach to our business starts in the office and extends to each and every one of our customers. BBB Warns Consumers of Fraudulent Furnace Maintenance! | Naperville

Thursday, October 20th, 2011

The Better Business Bureau recently has been trying to get the word out about heating contractors that are scamming customers by offering falsely low pricing on their yearly maintenance services. They are taking a page out of the duct cleaner book of fraudulent tactics and placing false advertisements in the mail, online, and pretty much anywhere else where you, the consumer, may fall prey. You are drawn in by the low price and once in your home, the “servicemen” are finding massive problems with the furnaces they are cleaning. From cracked heat exchangers to blown out blower motors, the BBB have found that many of these problems don’t actually exist. The unknowing consumer hands over hundreds more than they bargained for, and it was all just a scam.

Affordable and Honest Service from Four Seasons

At Four Seasons, we offer clean and checks for $89.95 with the coupon you can find on this site or in your mail or weekly papers. This price is more than a bargain for everything that is included in our 20+point tune ups and it comes with a no breakdown guarantee. The fraudulent companies that are out there may try to offer you the same service for $20 or maybe even cheaper, but we want to reinforce the BBB’s warning that this is nothing but a scam. Place your money with a company that has years of experience and an A+ rating with the BBB. (more…)

Tuesday, October 18th, 2011

With the slow turn around of the economy, it seem like the home repair and HVAC industries have been attracting more and more scam artists to the business. Every year like clockwork, ads go out from all sorts of companies offering amazingly low prices for their various services. The unsuspecting homeowner is just looking for a good deal, and the next thing they know, they are being taken for all they are worth. Four Seasons Heating and Air Conditioning works tirelessly to prove that we are a trustworthy and honest company, but keeping you informed about the scams we are seeing other homeowners fall into, is just one way can help you see the difference between a company that has your best interests at heart and a company that just wants to get your money and run.

Distraction and Deception

Be careful who you let in your home. Many of these scammers aren’t even bothering to pretend to do any work. They often work in groups of two. While one serviceman distracts the homeowner with a long conversation about the services they offer, the other performs an “inspection.” While you are paying attention to the conversation, the other serviceman is rifling through your belongings and taking anything that they can shove into their bags or their pockets. Hundreds of homeowners have lost valuables this way, and we don’t want you to be one of them this winter! (more…)

Friday, February 4th, 2011

The home repair industry has been an easy target for scam artists all across the country and in the Chicagoland area. Because of their deceptive practices, many homeowners are apprehensive about trusting anyone to perform repairs in their home. However, you can trust that the same high quality standards that Four Seasons uses in our HVAC services are brought to our home repair services as well. With all of the damage that the Blizzard of 2011 has caused to our homes, illegitimate home repair companies are going to start popping up all over the city. Keep your home and your money safe and remember Four Seasons.

Take a Breath and Don’t Panic

Many homeowners will call the first company they come across because they want the job done as fast as possible, and we can’t blame them for wanting to put their home back in one piece. But, acting too quickly could end up costing you if you accidentally choose the wrong company. Extensive research is needed in order to determine if a company is legitimate, yet many homeowners fail to recognize the warning signs that these “fly by night” contractors show when trying to sell their “services.” Some of these warning signs include: (more…)

Save Without Being Scammed| Oak Forest, Addison, Westmont

Wednesday, January 26th, 2011

Nearly every duct cleaning company in the industry, along with the Better Business Bureau and countless news broadcasting companies, has tried to warn consumers about the deceptive tactics that illegitimate duct cleaning companies use to make a quick buck. However, this multimillion dollar con is still claiming victims across our country and in the great city of Chicago.

A Popular Lie

Their most well known scam involves attracting customers with an impossibly low price. They will then raise the price at the time of service through the cost of add-ons that the customer doesn’t really need. Although the consumer thought they were getting their air ducts cleaned for $69, in the end, they pay hundreds and maybe even thousands of their hard earned dollars on poorly performed services. Top 5 Mistakes Made when Scheduling a Furnace Tune- Up| Riverdale

Monday, November 1st, 2010

They show up on your doorstep, in your mail, and in the sales papers. They are coupons for a furnace cleaning, and the prices range from $40 to well over $100. But what makes one cleaning different from another? Why the huge difference in price? How do you pick just one? These are all common questions that may cross your mind when searching for a company to perform this vital service on your furnace. Unfortunately, many people make mistakes when scheduling these appointments that often lead to them getting ripped off by illegitimate companies. To prevent this from happening to you, this is a list of 5 mistakes that we commonly hear about at Four Seasons.

Mistake #1

Choosing a company based on the price that they advertise

Everyone is looking for a good price these days, and they often don’t take into consideration whether or not a service can actually be performed properly at such a low cost. Some of us may even jump to the conclusion that the company who is charging more is the one who is trying to scam you instead of the low priced company. That is the trick that the illegitimate companies want you to fall for. (more…)

Update: Air Duct Cleaning Scams| Dolton, Lemont

Monday, October 11th, 2010

You may remember in early March of 2010, CBS2 News Chicago ran a investigative report on Air Duct Cleaning scams. Channel 2 Investigative Reporter, Pam Zekman, reported on how some customers were taken advantage of and overcharged by certain air duct cleaning companies.

Channel 2 asked Four Seasons Heating & Air Conditioning (National Air Duct Cleaners Association member)  to help explain what a professional duct cleaning should entail, how much it should cost and how long it should take to clean the air duct system. We were proud to  help because we feel illegitimate companies do a huge disservice to the industry. In a time when people want and expect value from professional service companies, offering one price then charging hidden fees is shameful. (more…)
