Friday, March 9th, 2012

Gas prices are beginning to soar and no matter who you may think is to blame, you really have only one way to prevent these increases from wringing you and your wallet dry. You will either have to cut back on how much gas you consume or find other ways to save. With the approaching summer season, many of us are probably eying that air conditioner as just another source of high costs. Invest some money now, and save all summer. Four Seasons can make it possible with nearly any budget.

Reducing Your Cooling Costs

  • Cleaning the Air Conditioner: An old dirty air conditioner cannot function efficiently. The SEER rating on lower units is already significantly lower than what is possible in a newer unit. However, you can maximize your air conditioner’s efficiency by having it professionally cleaned. A 20 + point tune up from Four Seasons Heating and Air Conditioning can increase your air conditioner’s SEER rating and get you the biggest bang for your buck every time you use the system this summer. A Temperature Roller Coaster | Sauk Village, Libertyville, Lake Villa

Thursday, March 1st, 2012

Do you feel like your home is on a temperature roller coaster? One minute the house is way to hot and the next it is icy cold. The problem most likely isn’t the furnace or the air conditioner. Odds are the thermostat is the source of your discomfort and for some a simple adjustment is all that is needed to restore balance to the temperature levels within the home. Four Seasons Heating and Air Conditioning will get to the bottom of your temperature conundrum and restore comfort to your home in just one visit from a Four Seasons Home Comfort Specialist!

Temperature Differentials

If the temperature swing in your home is caused by the thermostat the problem can usually be solved by adjusting the differential. The differential is a setting that allows the temperature to vary between one and three degrees in either direction of the temperature you have set. For example, you set the thermostat at 70 degrees. So you would expect the furnace to kick on when the temperature drops below 70 and turn off when the temperature once again hits 70 degrees. (more…)

Heat Pump Heaven! | River Grove, Calumet City, Carol Stream

Wednesday, February 29th, 2012

Chicago is known for our heavy intense winters, but this year has been a different story. We have had very few days where temperatures were significantly lower than 30 degrees, and all of this made for the perfect winter to own a heat pump. Heat pumps, like the Mitsubishi Electric from Four Seasons, offer energy efficient heating and cooling all in one system. Homeowners often use these systems as an energy efficient backup system when the weather isn’t as intense. This mild winter has given these people massive savings, and you can take advantage of these same benefits with the help of Four Seasons.

How a Heat Pump Works to Save You Money

Heat pumps pull heat from the air outside during the winter and remove heat from the air inside during the summer. The hot or cold air is then pumped into the rooms of your home through wall mounted units. This is a very energy efficient and green friendly way to cheaply heat and cool your home. When the temperature plummets you can use your old traditional heating unit to keep your home comfortable. Heat pumps of the past were not as capable of keeping our homes in this northern climate comfortable. The Mitsubishi Electric heat pump mini split system has overcome many of these limitations and can offer you true comfort and real savings all year round.

Whose Advice do You Trust? | Elk Grove Village, Streamwood

Tuesday, February 21st, 2012

When something goes wrong in your home, who do you go to for advice on how to handle the situation? For most of us the answer would be the name of a close friend or relative. These are the people we know well and love and we know that they truly have our best interests at heart. We take their recommendations into consideration and usually go with what they suggest especially when we are entering uncharted territory. For example, the first time your heating, cooling, or water heating went out, you may not have had a clue who to trust. Friends and family members can make their recommendations but in the end you are really only getting the perspective of one person’s opinion of a company.

Consumer Review Websites

Unfortunately, one person’s opinion isn’t enough to form an educated decision on who to trust with your home’s heating and cooling. Every company claims to be “the best” so taking their word for it is no good either. What you need are real consumer reviews that can’t be faked or made up. This is when people turn to consumer review sites on the internet. Based on the rating there, the consumer receives a better picture of how a company handles a service call and how they handle a problem if it should arise. (more…)

Forget about the Groundhog! | Tinley Park, Oak Forest, Elmwood Park

Monday, February 20th, 2012

We are halfway thru the month of February and the spring season is just around the corner.  Earlier this month, our favorite groundhog Puxatawney Phil has predicted 6 more weeks of winter.  There are 6 weeks of meteorological winter left anyway.  However, it’s not too early to start thinking about the maintenance of your air conditioner or the purchase of a new one. Four Seasons Heating and Air Conditioning is already looking ahead and preparing ourselves for summer. With the extreme heat we suffered through last year, we need to be ready for anything our customers may need.

Call Early to Secure Your Maintenance Check

Four Seasons offers a 20+ point inspection and cleaning for your air conditioner, and you can go to our website and print out a money saving coupon.  Weather plays a big part in when we can schedule our air conditioner cleanings, so lightening and chilly temperatures may mean we need to wait a little more than 6 weeks to schedule your appointment. However, the earlier you call the better!  The customers that call in early get the best prices, the best availability, and the best energy savings during the summer.

If you want an estimate for a new air conditioner or to schedule your cleaning, you can inquire on the website or call Four Seasons directly at 708-444-1111. Don’t delay call or go online today.

Gas Prices Go Up, Keep Your Energy Costs Down | Plainfield, Skokie

Thursday, February 16th, 2012

There is already much talk about this summer’s gas prices. Some even speculate that they may hit the $5 per gallon mark, and for many of us, that price is simply outrageous. With the expenses you currently have, could you even afford to fill up your tank to get to and from work? For many, the answer may currently be no, but luckily there is still time between the end of winter and the heat of summer. Take this time to find ways where you could save money, and Four Seasons can help you get them done!

Affordable Services to Save You Money!

Another goal to keep in mind is that you probably don’t want to spend a lot in order to save during the summer. We understand this and we offer many affordable services that can make saving money this summer a piece of cake. Two services that will make a huge difference are duct sealing and air conditioner cleaning: (more…)

Total Temperature Control | Elmwood Park, Downers Grove, Elgin

Friday, February 10th, 2012

Four Seasons Heating and Air Conditioning has been called into countless homes that all have the same problem: uneven temperatures from room to room. For many of these homes, the problem can be traced back to an ancient boiler that has needed replacement for years. Some homeowners that have these old boilers want to get rid of them and upgrade to a high efficiency forced air furnace. However, the lack of duct work in the home is a major problem. Adding duct work requires extensive construction within the home, and the disturbance alone is enough to make you think twice about the replacement. Flexible duct work is one, not so attractive, option, but luckily, Four Seasons has another affordable and efficient system that could solve both of your problems.

Customizable Comfort

A Mitsubishi Electric individual room heating and cooling unit from Four Seasons is the answer!  These units work by using one centralized condenser to power individual heating and cooling units that are located in the rooms of the home. Each unit can be controlled individually. This allows you to customize the temperature in each room and achieve maximum comfort with ease. These systems are easy to install and will not disturb the structure of the home the way that installing duct work will because they do not use ducts! These wall mounted systems are extremely quiet and energy efficient. As an added bonus they can also help improve the home’s indoor air quality! Each system doubles as a filtration system, and each filter is easy to clean and can last up to ten years! (more…)

Wifi Enabled Programmable Thermostats | Oakwood Hills, Palatine

Tuesday, January 31st, 2012

Four Seasons Heating and Air Conditioning has been installing programmable thermostats in homes across Chicagoland for many years now and the benefits of these thermostats have saved homeowners hundreds of dollars over the years. Now, there is an even easier way to get the most out of a programmable thermostat. Wifi enabled thermostats allow the homeowner added flexibility when it comes to setting the day to day program on the unit. The traditional programmable thermostat required manual setting changes and one forgotten adjustment could add up to extra cost that could have been avoided.

Added Benefits of a Wifi Enabled Programmable Thermostat

If you have a wifi network within the home, you can sync this thermostat with that network and access its settings from anywhere. Smart phones, tablets, and computers are all able to communicate with this device, so you could adjust the temperature from nearly anywhere. Instead of having to stick with one schedule every week, you can switch it up. Life is always changing from day to day, and these thermostats offer a new level of flexibility that simply could not be achieved with the old versions. For more information about these thermostats and to learn how you start saving more today, call Four Seasons!
