The Clock is Ticking on Tax Credits for 2011! | Mc Henry, Elgin, Dundee

Monday, November 14th, 2011

Thousands of homeowners missed out on the tax credits that were handed out last year to those that made certain energy efficient improvements to their homes. The return was significantly greater in 2010, but the government did us all a favor and extended the credits for another year but at a reduced amount. However, the credits being offered are still quite significant. As we approach the end of this year, these credits are once again going to run out, and Four Seasons wants you to have every opportunity to take advantage of them before it is too late!

Tax Credit Eligible Products from Four Seasons:

  • Furnaces and Air Conditioners: Furnaces from Four Seasons that have an AFUE rating of 95% or better are eligible for a $150 tax credit. 16 SEER air conditioners are also eligible for a tax credit of $300. This credit can make up for the extra cost that goes into purchasing a more energy efficient system. Sure other, less efficient, unit may be cheaper in the short run, but these units have long term returns and benefits in addition to these tax credits.
  • Insulation Services: According to Energy Star, adding insulation is one of the most cost-effective home improvements that you can do! That is why when you use Four Seasons blown-in attic insulation services you can get a return of 10% of the cost up to $500! (more…)

Energy Star Ratings| Elmhurst, Bolingbrook, La Grange Park

Thursday, December 9th, 2010

If you have walked into an appliance store in the past 18 years, you have probably noticed the little blue Energy Star labels on many appliances, but what is Energy Star? The name sounds like it means something good and you probably have heard about the tax breaks on Energy Star rated appliances. But, do you really know what Energy Star is? If not, Four Seasons will clear up any and tell you how you can take advantage of the many Energy Start rated products that we offer.

What is Energy Star?

Why Timing Is Everything

Monday, July 26th, 2010

A great deal of what of what people consider good luck comes down to timing; Some people say timing is everything. When it comes to saving money on a new air conditioner, furnace or boiler this year much of that will come down to timing. If you were fortunate enough to get the Illinois Appliance Rebate in January 2010 then you would have received up to $500 on a central air conditioner, up to $1,200 on a new boiler and $350 on a new furnace.

Of course the eligible products had to be energy efficient products that were Energy Star rated. The money you would have saved then would be in addition to the federal tax credit of up to 30% of the purchase price up to $1,500. That federal tax credit is valid as long as you purchase a high efficiency air conditioner, furnace or boiler before December 31, 2010. Most of the funds for the rebates and tax credits are coming from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. While originally intended to boost sales of “white goods” (appliances and durable goods) the biggest benefit overall has been to consumers. (more…)

Rebates and Incentives Transform Habits

Monday, July 5th, 2010

As we begin the month of July, and the heart of summer we often associate hot weather with the cost of keeping cool. We use electricity to run our room air conditioners, central air conditioners, fans, and refrigerators. During the summer months our utility bills are sure to see a spike in costs. In April of 2010, The State of Illinois offered consumers rebates on energy efficient appliances including the aforementioned refrigerators and central air conditioners. This and other programs have helped to transform consumer habits in terms of purchases and how they use energy. (more…)
