Community Responsibility at Four Seasons| Hodgkins, Hines, Lyons

Tuesday, June 21st, 2011

For the past forty years, Four Seasons Heating and Air Conditioning has been a part of Chicago and the Chicagoland area. We live and work in this city, and as a part of this community, we feel a certain responsibility to the people that live here as well. We make every attempt to provide this city with reliable and trustworthy HVAC service when they need it the most, and we sometimes even take the extra step to intervene for those that are being taken advantage of by less scrupulous companies.

A Troubling Tale

A couple weeks ago, one of our sales managers came across a story about an elderly woman and her air conditioner. She has purchased a furnace and air conditioner during the winter months and now that the weather was beginning to warm, she was trying to have the air conditioner installation completed. After several ignored phone calls and a slew of excuses, this woman was still without cooling in her home. Why I Work for Four Seasons | Aurora, Arlington Heights, Hillside

Do you trust your HVAC service man? Depending on the HVAC company you use, maybe you shouldn’t. Three years ago I came to work for Four Seasons Heating and Air Conditioning. The main reason I decided to leave my old job and come to work for these guys was their integrity. My last employer was more focused on the bottom line than his reputation and community good will. The best example I can give of how things were ran at this other company is of a customer that called with a compliment. Needless to say my boss did everything in his power to sell her a new furnace over the phone. He then tore into me about not selling her a new furnace when I had the chance.

Lying to Sell a Furnace

I was confused and angry. Why would I tell someone a lie to sell a new furnace? She needed to plan on replacing her old one, but it was still in good shape. I told her about the energy the old one was using and the difference a new one would make on her electric and gas bills. I also mentioned the cost of repairs she might have in the future. I thought informing her of everything she faced in the future with her old equipment was the right thing to do. When I left her home she knew the truth about her old furnace, but that wasn’t good enough for my old boss. (more…)

Quick Tips to Fix an AC Problem| Elmwood Park, Orland Hills

Here’s a few quick tips on possible Spring AC problems. In this tough economy the last thing you need is an air conditioner repair when you try and turn it on for the first time this spring.  There are two quick and simple possibilities for why your air conditioner may not be quite right the first time around this year.

1.       Possible tripped breaker – One of the most common causes of no-cool calls is a tripped breaker.  Be sure to reset your breaker before making a call for heating & cooling repairs.  Hopefully it won’t trip again, but if it does then it’s time to make a call.  At that point something is causing the breaker to trip and still it is often something simple like a bad breaker, loose wire, or a bad capacitor.  However, if not addressed, some simple problems can lead to far more expensive repairs.
